Gear and Workflow Tools

Gear and Workflow Tools

I rely heavily on my gear and workflow tools to deliver all my content. So for some of who who are wondering what gears/software I use for my photography/filmmaking, here’s a list of all the tools I use 🙂

Standard Camera Gear

I am now a fully transition Sony shooter. For shoots, I bring all of these:

GearDescription
Sony A7IIIMy main camera.
Sony RX100VAMy backup/BTS camera.
Sony A 20mm 2.8My wide angle lens for shooting
Sony FE 35mm 1.8Standard lens for shoots
Sony FE 85mm 1.8My main lens when shooting with my A7III
Sony FE 50mm 1.8My go-to lens when the 85mm is too tight for shooting
Helios 44-2For artistic shots
5-in-1 Reflector
Benro C1691T Tripod
Generic LED LightsFor a little boost if light is scarce

Other Gears/Accessories

If I would be travelling with the wife and pack, or would like to do some cinematic time-lapses, hyper-lapses, or drone shots, I would consider also bringing these:

GearDescription
DJI Osmo Mobile + BaseFor run-and-gun vlogging and timelapses
Rode VideoMicro + SC7 cableFor awesome audio
DJI Osmo Mobile Universal Mount AdapterFor attaching the VideoMicro and Tripod
Tripods/Grips/Attachments
Macbook Pro 13″ LaptopNot really a fan of bringing it. But just in case my trip is longer than usual.
Travel adapterDon’t leave home without it!

Camera Bags

Depending on the amount of gear I will be bringing, I would usually use either of these three bags:

GearDescription
LowePro Fastpack 100When you just need 1 camera body and a few lenses
Crumpler – C-List Celebrity MediumWhen I am bringing a whole lotta gear
NatGeo A5270 RucksackMy travel backpack. Fits a camera body + 2 lenses, my drone, osmo mobile, mini-tripods and laptop

Workflow Tools

My standard tools for post-processing and video editing are as follows:

Software/ToolDescription
Final Cut Pro XFor editing/compiling videos
Adobe Photography BundleFor editing photos I use the Adobe Photography bundle which has both Lightroom and Photoshop — best deal ever if you ask me.
iMac 27″ DesktopMy main workstation! Still the best out there compared to the laptop 🙂
WD My Book Studio EXT HD 3TBMy workstation’s Time Capsule for instant backup
Western Digital – My Passport 4TBMy external archive drive for all of my pictures/videos 🙂

There you have it, my whole gear and workflow tool list! So if you ever have any questions as to why I charge so much, it is because I really invest in my gear in as much as my skills 🙂
